Board of Directors

Decades of equestrian industry experience guiding EAF's mission and stewardship

The Equestrian Aid Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors whose members bring firsthand knowledge of the hunter-jumper circuit, professional horsemanship, nonprofit finance, and the wider equestrian community. They serve without compensation, guided solely by the foundation's mandate.

Governance of the Foundation

The board of directors exercises the full fiduciary and strategic authority of the Equestrian Aid Foundation. Directors oversee grant policy, financial stewardship, program development, and the organization's long-term direction. All decisions are made in service of one purpose: the welfare of equestrian industry professionals.

EAF's board is self-nominating and operates under bylaws filed with the State of Florida. The foundation maintains full transparency with the IRS and holds a GuideStar seal of financial transparency. Board service is entirely voluntary — no director receives compensation.

Principals of the Foundation

Four members of the board hold the designation of Leadership Team — the longest institutional relationships with EAF, bearing primary responsibility for day-to-day governance and strategic direction.

Founding Member & Former President Leadership Team · Since Founding

R. Scot Evans

A founding member and former President of Equestrian Aid, Scot Evans has been the conscience of the foundation from its earliest days. Active on the nationwide hunter-jumper 'A' circuit, he has built a parallel reputation as a respected judge, clinician, and public speaker. His primary focus — the welfare of both horses and those who care for them — is the animating principle behind everything EAF does.

Treasurer Leadership Team · Joined 2015

Marilou Case

Marilou Case brought to EAF's Leadership Team a professional record built over two decades of institutional finance at Johnson & Johnson, where she served as Manager of Facility Services. She applies that same discipline to EAF's stewardship — and to her concurrent work as business manager for Ken Berkley and Scott Stewart's River's Edge Farm.

Board of Directors Member Since Formal Incorporation · 1996

Robert Ross

Robert Ross was a hunter-jumper trainer and Grand Prix rider when he became involved in EAF's founding in the early 1990s. He has served on the Board of Directors since its formal incorporation in 1996 — one of the longest continuous tenures on the foundation. Today, he is among the top luxury real estate agents for Keller Williams Realty in Wellington and the state of Florida.

Leadership Team Leadership Team · Involved Since 2010

Monique Huntington Keitz

Monique Huntington Keitz has been involved with Equestrian Aid since 2010 and joined the Leadership Team in 2012. Her commitment to EAF is rooted in her compassion for the people of the horse world — particularly those who have no lifeline in a moment of crisis. She owns and operates Summerfields Farm, a sport horse breeding and training operation.

Serving Without Compensation

Every member of the Equestrian Aid Foundation Board of Directors serves as a volunteer. There are no salaries, stipends, or compensation of any kind. The board is drawn together by shared commitment to the equestrian community — the trainers, grooms, riders, and handlers who keep the sport alive — and by the conviction that those who dedicate their lives to horses should not face crisis alone.
